No. 11 Providence scored early in the first period and added three more goals in the third to beat the No. 18 Boston University men's hockey team, 4-0, on the Terriers' home ice to complete a weekend sweep.
Even though the Terriers outshot the Friars, 33-26, the Providence goalie deflected every shot he faced. Mikhail Yegorov made 22 saves in the net for BU.
The Terriers fall to 12-12-1 overall and 8-9-0 in Hockey East play. They're in fourth place in the conference standings, seven points behind the first-place Friars.
Next weekend, they have a single game against archrival Boston College, 13-8-1 overall and four points ahead of BU in the Hockey East standings.
