Rockets 128, Celtics 101

Well, I guess if you're going to break a three-game winning streak with a loss, you might as well get blown out by 27 points. Let me rephrase that - if you have a 27-point loss coming, it  might as well be after three straight wins to cushion the blow a little.

Awful game by the C's tonight. They played awful at times last night in Philly, but at other times they pulled through and played well when needed. Tonight, back home in the friendly confines of the Garden, it was all the awful parts with no redeeming value.

Baylor Scheierman led the Celtics with 17 points off the bench and 4-of-5 three-point shooting. Pritchard had 14 points and Brown had a dozen. The Celtics were out-rebounded by the Rockets, 53 to 36. About the only positive thing to say for the team tonight is that collectively the Celtics were perfect on free throws, going 7-7.

The Celtics fall to 3-4. They're off tomorrow to think long and hard about what they did wrong, and then host the Utah Jazz (2-3) on Monday night.

Whew, what a day of sports! The Bruins win in the morning, the Bulldogs win over Florida in the late afternoon, losses by the BU men and women's team, and this mess by the Celtics. All in one day! And all with a World Series Game 7 happening in the background!
