We love our winners here at Sweat Dissolves Water, and right now all our teams are winning. The Boston Celtics just completed a sweep of (almost) all the teams we follow here, the caveat necessary because baseball season is over and the Red Sox aren't playing.
But since Saturday afternoon, we've celebrated victories by the Georgia Bulldogs (41-21 over Mississippi State), the BU Terriers' women's team (2-1 over Maine) and the men's team (5-4 over Merrimack), the mighty Boston Bruins (5-4 over the Maple Leafs), and the resurgent New England Patriots (28-23 over the Bucs). Now the Celtics continue the streak with a 111-107 win over the Orlando Magic.
Friendly reminder that on Friday night, the C's were trounced by the Magic, 123-110, but the team hung around Orlando and played them again yesterday. This time, Brown led the team with 27 points, but the hero of the game was probably Anfernee Simons with 25 points and 5-of-8 three-point shooting. He was also a perfect 4-4 on free throws.
White had 21 points and Luka Garza had 16 off the bench. Garza also led the team in rebounding with four offensive and four defensive boards in 17 minutes of play. Hugo González and had only 3 points and 12:36 playing time, the least of any Boston player last night, but the team's plus 19 when he was on the court led the Celtics.
The Celtics, are still only 5-6 on the season and fourth in the Atlantic. Their next game is in Philadelphia against the second-place Sixers (6-4) on Tuesday.
