BU 4, Providence 1

 

On the bleakest of Fridays, with the Celtics and the BU men's teams both losing, the women Terriers break through and snap a two-game skid with a 4-1 rout of Providence.

Providence scored the first goal, but it was all BU after that. Lilli Welcke, Clara Yuhn, Kaileigh Quigg, and Riley Walsh all scored for the Terriers, the latter an empty netter in the closing minutes. Mari Pietersen made 34 saves in the net.

Game 2 of this home-and-away series is Saturday.
