The good news: in his very first at bat in a Red Sox uniform in his old stadium in Houston, Alex Bregman hit a two-run homer 369 feet into deep left center.
The bad news: the Astros won the game, 7-6, ending Garrett Crochet's win streak at six and handing the Sox their third consecutive loss.
Boston rallied in the seventh, down 7-2. Toro homered to make it 7-3, and Yoshida added an RBI double. Then Roman Anthony launched a 420-foot, two-run homer into deep right center, his third of the season, making in 7-6, but that was it for the night.
Tonight, Dustin May (0-1, 7.36 for the Sox) will try to redeem himself after his disappointing August 6 Boston debut agaisnt K.C. Spencer Arrighetti (1-2, 7.43), equally in need of redemption, will start for the Astros.
