The Coaches Poll ranked the University of Georgia Bulldogs Number 4 in the preseason poll. In the AP Poll, the Dawgs are No. 5 due to Russian sportswriters.
The other teams in the top five are among the ones I hate the most (especially Texas and Notre Dame). Interestingly, No. 1 Texas plays 2024 national champion and preseason No. 2 Ohio State on August 30, so it'll be fun to see at least one of those teams go down in flames at the very start of the season (not that I'm a Buckeye fan, but let's hope it's Texas that goes down). The Dawgs will host the Longhorns on November 15 so something to look forward to.
It's nice to see Alabama all the way down at No. 8 and before anyone can say "Tennessee's back!," they're starting the season all the way down at No. 18, behind even No. 17 Florida. The Gators, current holders of the lineal championship crown (aka the Holy Moley Guacamole One True Belt), have a grueling conference schedule with road games at LSU's Death Valley, A&M, Kentucky, and Ole Miss, a non-conference road game in Miami, and their annual rivalry game with Georgia. Ouch!
