Red Sox 4, Rays 3

 

Two in a row, and Boston wins the three-game home series against Tampa Bay.  Roman Anthony went 0-for-4, but rookie Marcelo Mayer hit two home runs; Duran and Toro hit homers, too. All of Boston's scoring tonight was on solo home runs. Starter Walker Buehler picked up his fifth win, pitching seven complete innings, giving the bullpen a rest, and striking out seven. 

The Sox will get a day off tomorrow, and then start the all-important three-game weekend series against the Yankees on Friday.
