That's more like it! Today, Roman Anthony got his first MLB hit, a two-run double in the bottom of the first inning, in what turned out to be the game-winning hit. Trevor Story got a HR in the sixth, sure to boost his confidence. Lucas Giolito got his second win of the season, another confidence builder, going six innings with three hits, one run, and four Ks. And Whitlock and Weissert were perfect in relief.
And just like that, the Sox are only three games back from Minnesota in the Wild Card standings. Still, a whole lot closer to last place in the AL East than first.
But it feels good to be a Sox fan again today. Let's see if we can keep this warm, fuzzy feeling going in Game 3 (rubber match) tomorrow (7:00 pm). Walker Buehler (4-4, 5.18) versus Zack Littell (6-5, 3.68).
