Back-to-back wins for the Red Sox as they shut out the Rangers! Boston wins the homestand series! The Sox remain in second place in the AL East!
Brayan Bello got pulled in the fifth with two on and two outs, and Justin Slaten got the win for closing out the inning and then pitching an immaculate sixth (no runs, no hits, no walks). Liam Hendricks pitched two immaculate innings in the 8th and 9th to close out the game and Devers put an exclamation point on the win with a solo home run in the 7th.
Winning feels a lot better than losing. Someone on the Red Sox ought to tell that to the Celtics.
Now comes the challenge: the Red Sox fly out to Kansas City for three games against the Royals (23-16). In the opener, Hunter Dobson (2-1, 3.78) faces off against Michael Lorenzen (3-3, 4.23). The game starts at 7:40.
