Abreu and Bregman both homered in the fourth inning - Abreu to deep right center and Bregman to deep left. Later, Abreu and Bregman both had RBI base hits - Abreu a one-run double in the 6th and Bregamn a two-run single in the 7th. Finally, Abreu hit another homer in the 8th and the Red Sox won, 6-4.
Both Abreu and Bregman now have nine home runs each on the season.
Tanner Houck gave up three runs on six hits over 4.2 innings, while Bernardino and Weissert each pitched a perfect inning in relief - no runs, no hits, and no walks. Aroldis Chapman gave up a run on the only Texas hit of the 9th, but still got the save. Bernardino (2-1, 1.93) was awarded the win.
The Red Sox return to .500 (19-19) and remain two games back from New York.
The rubber match of this series, the last game of this home stand, is tomorrow at 1:35. Brayan Bello (2-0, 2.55) faces Jack Leiter (2-1, 4.58).
