With six wins in their last seven games, the Boston Red Sox (14-11) are finally back on track. After today's 8-3 beatdown of the Seattle Mariners, Boston is now in second place, a mere ½ game back from the damn Yankees, who lost today.
The big play of the game was Triston Casas' three-run homer to deep (421 ft.) center in the seventh inning. Earlier in the game, Alex Bregman got three RBI's on back-to-back doubles and Devers opened up the scoring with an RBI sac fly in the first. After Casas' homer, Duran hit an RBI single in the seventh.
Brayan Bello earns his first win of the season, keeping his ERA at a miserly 1.50 with three strikeouts over five innings. The Sox went deep into their bullpen to preserve this win, pitching Justin Wilson, Greg Weissert, and Garrett Whitlock before bringing in Liam Hendriks to close.
