Rays 4, Red Sox 3

Jarren Duran hit an RBI single in the third. Marcelo Mayer brought two home in the eighth with a double. That's three runs. But Tolle gave up four and the Red Sox lose again, the 38th time this season.

The Sox are 12½ back from the Rays and 11 games below .500. And they're going to lose again today, swept in Tampa Bay, with rookie Jake Bennett (1-1, 4.35) starting against the Rays' Drew Rasmussen (5-2, 3.00).

Despair all ye who heed these words. Your Red Sox aren't going anywhere, except maybe down in history as one of the worst Boston squads of all time.
