Providence 4, BU 3

 

The No. 18 Boston University men's hockey team lost their game in Providence last night, 4-3, against the No. 11 Friars.

Providence struck first with two  power-play goals in the first period, but BU's Cole Eiserman scored in the second and freshman Tynan Lawrence got his first collegiate goal early in the third to tie the game up. Providence jumped back ahead by one, but Eiserman got a second goal of the night to tie it again. However, Providence scored with 2:41 remaining in regulation to skate away with the win. Terrier goaltender Mikhail Yegorov had 36 saves on the night.

BU falls to 12-11-1 overall and 8-8-0 in Hockey East. They are in fourth place in the conference standings, four points back from first-place Providence. 

The weekend series moves to Boston for a game at 7:00 pm tonight.
