"Utah Mammoth" is hands-down my favorite team name is all of sports, especially since it's the singular "Mammoth" and not "the Mammoths." Whoever came up with that name: <chef's kiss>. May your spouse be forever good looking and your children above average.
Anyhow, the Bruins knocked the shit out of the Mammoth last night in the Garden behind two Morgan Geekie goals. Casey Mittelstadt and Michael Eyssimont scored, too, and Swayman went .952 in the net with 20 saves.
With the win, the Bruins, the only team in the NHL without an overtime loss, improve to 20-14-0. Their 40 points put them in second place in the Atlantic, a mere one point behind Detroit and one up on Tampa Bay. Their 111 goals on the season is fifth best in the NHL, four more than the sixth-best Mammoth.
On Thursday night, the Bruins will host the high-scoring Edmonton Oilers (16-12-6), the team with the third most goals (116) in the league.
