Well, it was bound to happen eventually. After seven consecutive wins, the mighty Boston Bruins finally lost a game.
Ottawa scored twice in the first period and Geekie got the Bruins' fist goal in the second. Ottawa took a 3-1 lead early in the third, but a power-play goal by Pasta and an even-strength goal by Kastelic tied it up. But Ottawa's Tim Stutzle scored the go-ahead goal late in the period and then sealed the win with an open-net goal, and the Bruins suffer their first loss since October 27.
The Bruins (11-8-0) are still tied with Montreal and Ottawa in points (22) but are in third place based on the number of games. Their next game is Saturday (7:00 pm) against the Canadiens (10-5-2) so one way or another, the tie is going to break.
