In an evening of insane stats, probably the most insane of all is that in their 36-point blowout of Memphis, the Celtics were plus 42 during Payton Pritchard's 30:22 on the floor.
Last night, the Celtics not only finally accomplished what they needed to do all season, namely improve their three-point shooting and rebounding, but set season records for three-point percentage (41.2%) and team rebounds (68) in the process. They also tied their season-highs in threes made (21), offensive (18) and defensive (40) rebounds, as well as blocks (8).
Yes, it was a good night.
Pritchard led both teams with 24 points, but everyone got in on the scoring - Mr. White scored 20, Mr. Brown scored 19, Garza got 14, and Queta, 13. See what happens when you rebound and hit your threes?
At 6-7 on the season, the Celtics are still below .500 and in fourth place in the Atlantic, but are 6-4 in their last 10. If they keep rebounding and shooting like this, they could get to .600 on the season.
After playing two nights in a row, the NBA decided they deserved a weekend off and haven't scheduled another game for them until Sunday afternoon (3:30 pm), when they host the LA Clippers (3-8) in the Garden.
