Magic 123, Celtics 110

The Celtics got blown out by the Magic, 38-25, in the first quarter and never fully recovered. Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 32 points, but scored only two in the fourth. They got 44 rebounds in the game, same as the Magic, but were 13-37 (35.1%) on three-point shooting compared to the Magic's 17-36 (47.2%).

Payton Pritchard (27 points, 5-8 on threes) and Anfernee Simons (11 points, 3-6 on threes) had the hot hands from outside and combined had 6 of the Celtics 13 completed three-point shots. Mr. White and Mr. Brown were both 1-6 on threes, although Mr. White had the double double with 16 points and 10 assists.

The Celtics fall to 4-6 on the season, fourth in the Atlantic. This was an NBA Cup game, and Boston's now 1-1 in East Group B play, behind the Pistons and the Magic (1-0 each) and ahead of Philly and Brooklyn (0-1).

The Celtics get to hang around Orlando today and, I dunno, go to Disneyland or whatever, and then play the Magic again on Sunday (6:00 pm).
