Georgia 24, Florida 20

And I thought last night's Celtics win was ugly! It's going to take more than a rearview mirror to make this one look better - the whole game was Marjorie Taylor Greene ugly!

The No. 5-ranked University of Georgia Bulldogs, fresh off a bye week's rest, played like ass. They made the unforgiveable error of making unranked Florida (3-4) look good (they weren't). Our defense, or more specifically the lack thereof, was a bigger factor in Florida's success on the field than was their own offense. We missed tackles, we fell behind receivers, and we gave the Gator's QB all the time he needed to complete passes at his own leisure. Leading, 20-17, and with eight minutes left in the game, Florida advanced the ball all the way downfield to the Georgia 18. Fortunately, we forced a turnover on downs, some (sore losers) would say with the help of the refs, and then drove the ball 82 yards down the field for the game-winning TD.

Last play of the game, Stockton ran the ball from the Florida 5-yard line right up to to the end line and stopped just short of crossing to run out the clock rather than run up the score with another TD. Class move, or point shaving for the bookies? You be the judge.

By the numbers, Stockton had another good week (20 for 29, 220 passing yards, 13 rushing yards, 2 TDs, and one interception), but it says more about our O that the only score in the whole second quarter when we were trailing, 7-10, was one measly FG.

The Bulldogs are 7-1, but may drop a spot or two in the poll after the lackluster performance. Next week, the team travels to Mississippi State to play the other Bulldogs (4-4). Let's hope the Georgia Dawgs leaned some lessons this week and play better on the road than they played at home today.
