BU 5, Merrimack 4

 

The Terriers sweep the Warriors! The BU men's team completes the home-and-away series with a 5-4 win in North Andover over Merrimack. 

Gavin McCarthy, Cole Hutson, Ryder Ritchie and Owen McLaughlin scored even-strength goals and Jack Harvey got an open-net score late in the game. In the last minutes of play, Merrimack used their open-net advantage to squeeze out two late scores, but the Terriers held on and outlasted the Warriors' barrage. Mikhail Yegorov made 27 saves on 31 shots for an .871 percentage. 

No. 12 BU (5-5-1) is now tied with Northeastern and UMass Lowell for first place in the Hockey East standings with nine points on 3-3-0 conference play. 

Next is a non-conference game down in Connecticut against No. 5 Quinnipiac (5-2-1) on Saturday afternoon (4:00 pm).
