Red Sox 4, Dodgers 2

In Crochet we trust.

That trust was sorely tested when the game started with lead-off batter Shohei Ohtani homering 437 feet into deep center, and then the third batter, Teoscar Hernández, homering 399 feet into deep left. But Crochet settled down after that rocky start, getting ten strikeouts over six innings and picking up his 12th win of the season. Meanwhile, Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw got only two K's and gave up four runs before getting pulled in the fifth with two outs and one on. In the Dodger's last at-bat in the game, Mookie Betts came in the game to pinch-hit for Hyeseong Kim, but Aroldis Chapman struck him out. The Red Sox won, and tied the homestand up at one game each.

Former Dodger Walker Buehler (6-6, 5.72) takes the mound this afternoon against his old team, and Dustin May (6-6, 4.73) will start for L.A. We'll see if Buehler knows his former teammates well enough after eight seasons in L.A. to lead Boston to a win in this series.
