Red Sox Shut Out Mets, 2-0

 

What a game! Raffey and Narváez both homered off of Mets pitcher Clay Holmes in the 5th. Red Sox starter Walker Buehler, back from almost a month on the DL, gets thrown out in the 3rd for saying "fuck you" to the ump after an obvious strike against Juan Soto was called a "ball." Alex Cora was thrown out too for defending Buehler.

Boston used seven pitchers to get this shut out. Garrett Whitlock came on in relief, didn't blow the lead, and wound up getting the win despite facing only four batters. 

The Red Sox are back to .500 (25-25) and are up 2-0 in this three-game home series against the Mets. Crochet (4-3, 2.00) faces Tyler Megill (3-4, 3.74) in the rubber match tomorrow night.
