I had to check that score twice to make sure I didn't have the teams mixed up. We've been on the ass end of scores like that the last week or so. But yes, the Boston Red Sox came to Trap City and beat the Braves on their home field, 5-1, outhitting them by 11-6.
Trevor Story homered and Devers hit a two-RBI single. Giolito gave up one run in the first but otherwise kept the Braves scoreless, and a total of five pitchers out of the bullpen gave up only one hit over 5.1 innings. Reliever Garrett Whitlock (4-0, 3.68) got the win.
THAT'S how you play baseball!
Let's keep this going. Tomorrow, Walker Buehler (4-2, 3.95) faces Spencer Schwellenbach (3-4, 3.42), who went seven innings and beat us in Fenway back on May 18. Game starts at 4:10.
