Wisconsin 7, BU 0

Last year, the Boston University Terrier's women's hockey team opened their season with two games against No. 3 Minnesota. In fucking Minneapolis, no less. I thought they were insane. They lost both games, of course, and started their season 0-2.

This year, the Terriers open their season with two games against No. 1 Wisconsin. In fucking Madison, no less.  They lost the first of the games last night, 7-0.

Wisconsin scored a goal in the first period and then exploded for five in the second. They added a seventh and final goal in the last period.

Senior goaltender Mari Pietersen made 24 saves on 31 shots. Sophomore Sydney Fogu made her collegiate debut (she was out all last season with an injury) late in the second and made 16 saves on 17 shots.

The Terriers play the second game of the series tonight (6:00 pm).
