The Vegan Golden Knights scored three times in the first period last night to take a commanding, 3-0, lead in the TD Garden, the Bruin's home rink. Sacred ice. Apparently, no one ever taught Vegas not to poke the bear.
Pasta came right back at them and scored a goal midway through the second. 3-1. Jeannot scored midway through the third, and then Elias Lindholm and Charlie McAvoy (BU, 2016) both scored power-play goals within 30 seconds of each other to seal a 4-3 Bruins win.
Joonas Korpisalo saved 30 of 33 shots on goal (.909).
The Bruins (29-20-2) are seventh overall in the East and three points above the cut-off line for Wild Card eligibility. Their 168 goals on the season is tied with Tampa Bay for fifth-best in the NHL.
Next game is against the despised, arch-rival Montreal Canadiens (28-16-7), who are currently sitting pretty in the standings with three more points than the Bruins. It's time to cut into that lead.
