Somewhere on the West Coast, sometime after midnight in the East, somebody named Ian Moore slapped a shot into the Bruins' net with 3½ minutes left in the game, and despite a pair of Morgan Geekie goals and another by Michael Eyssimont, the Anaheim Ducks handed the Bruins their second straight loss and third in their last four games.
With 24 points, the Bruins (12-10-0) are tied for third in the Eastern Division with Pittsburgh and the Islanders, and second to Detroit in the Atlantic. Offensively, they've scored 71 goals so far this season, fourth best in the NHL. Their power-play offense is especially potent - they're second in the league in power-play goals (20), third in power-play opportunities (73), and fourth in power-play percentage (27.4%).
The next game is Friday night (10:30 pm) in LA against the Kings (10-6-4). Let's hope for some power plays.
