Red Sox 13, Reds 6

Okay, I was wrong. About last night's game, I predicted "we're gonna fuckin' lose," and, well, we fuckin' won. Sometimes, it feels nice to be wrong.

It didn't hurt our chances that we scored seven runs in the first inning alone. Talk about batting practice! Reds starter Chase Burns gave up five hits, including one home run, and two walks before getting pulled with only one out. Abreu homered twice, including a grand slam in the 8th, and Duran homered in the sixth. Boston starter Crochet lasted six innings and made nine Reds strike out.

So now Boston's had a 15-run game on Saturday and a 13-run game last night. The 28 runs are as many as the previous nine games combined. It's fun to capitalize on bad pitching, but we need to do better on those more frequent days when we face real major-league pitching.

The Red Sox are threatening to put Dick Fitts (0-3, 4.68) on the mound tonight against the Reds' Brady Singer (7-6, 4.31).
