Mariners 8, Red Sox 0

 

Roman Anthony goes 0-4 with three strikeouts, Walker Buehler gives up a grand-slam home run in the second, and the Sox lose to Seattle, 8-0.

The only saving grace is that the Yankees are currently on an 0-5 slump, including last weekend's sweep by the Sox, so Boston is still only 5½ back in the AL East. However, we've fallen behind Seattle in the Wild Card standings and are now a half game back, tied with Cleveland. 

This afternoon (4:10 pm), we'll take out best shot at winning the series, putting Garrett Crochet (6-4, 2.24) on the mound against Luis Castillo (4-4, 3.29), and then pop down to San Francisco to see how Raffy's doing with the Giants.
